Willow Coppice
Away from the drawing board, we work in the woods. Willow Coppice is an environmental art project and a collaboration with artist and maker Andy Goodwin, growing and coppicing willow and hazel to create living sculpture and installations, while sustainably managing woodland to capture carbon and encourage biodiversity.
The same instinct that shapes our buildings runs through this work: a love of natural material, of craft, and of light, and a belief that design should give something back to the landscape it sits in. Recent pieces include commissions for the University of Oxford's Wytham Woods and a six-metre woven sculpture at Oxford Brookes University.
