Rogue Designs is an architecture and interior design practice near Oxford, established in 2001 and led throughout by Charlotte Holmes and Paul Turner. We work on high end, whole house renovations across Oxford, Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, bringing architecture, interiors, landscape and bespoke furniture, made in our own workshop, together under one roof. Architecture and house extensions

Design led architecture for extensions, conversions and whole house projects, from concept through planning and technical drawings to a buildable scheme. We design house extensions of every kind, from side returns and rear extensions to glazed and contemporary additions, as well as loft, garage and basement conversions, annexes and garden rooms, and individual new build homes, always detailed to sit comfortably with the existing house and its setting.

Whole house renovation and project management

Complete renovations and refurbishments, reconfiguring an entire property from layout and structure to the last finish, and managed as one turnkey project from concept through construction to handover. We coordinate trades, budgets and timelines so the design intent survives all the way to the end.

Period, listed and heritage homes

Much of our work is with period, Victorian, Edwardian and listed homes, and with properties in conservation areas and Article 4 areas where the usual permitted development rights have been removed. Securing the right consents is a big part of what we do. We prepare, submit and manage planning applications and listed building consent, navigate conservation area guidance, and make the considered, well evidenced case to conservation and planning officers that sees sensitive change approved. We also see projects through building regulations approval and the structural and technical detail behind it, working with a trusted network of consultants, so a scheme is not only granted but properly and soundly built. Throughout, we balance genuine heritage sensitivity with modern comfort and performance, quietly improving how a home actually works.

Sustainable and low carbon design

Ecologically minded design using sustainable, reclaimed and low carbon materials, with real attention to energy, comfort and longevity. That includes low carbon retrofit of existing homes, from insulation and glazing to heat recovery and renewables, done sensitively, so character is not lost along the way.

Interior design and interior architecture

Full service interior design for whole house projects, covering layout, finishes, lighting, furniture and curation, alongside interior architecture that reshapes how a home works: walls, levels, staircases, openings, lighting circuits and built in storage, to improve light, flow and the connection between spaces. Kitchens, bathrooms, boot rooms, dressing rooms, media rooms and wine cellars are all designed as part of the wider house, never in isolation.

Bespoke furniture and joinery

Furniture and joinery designed and made in our own workshop to suit each space exactly, from fitted kitchens, media units and bookcases to built in storage and freestanding pieces. Making is an integral part of how we design, not an afterthought.

Gardens and outdoor spaces designed as part of the whole, connecting house and landscape through planting, levels, boundaries and lighting.

Art and sculpture
